In a post-COVID 19 era, the Algarve is a safe destination for its tourists.

The Algarve, due to its unique characteristics, with clean beaches, fresh air and open countryside areas, combined with its low population density, hygiene and safety protocols in hotels, restaurants and tourist activities, offers the confidence of a safe destination.

The climate of the region, with its many days of sun and clear skies, in addition to elevating the spirit, still offers us excellent doses of vitamin D, our gastronomy, with its fresh products, based on the Mediterranean diet, offers good doses of nutrients and minerals essential to keep us healthy, and thus have the necessary vitality to explore the various corners of the region.

The Algarve is famous for its fantastic beaches, from long sand sand sands to small coves surrounded by cliffs. On the monitored beaches, there are already measures taken to achieve social distancing and be able to enjoy the beaches in greater safety.

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected us all. Its impact on the global economy and local communities is huge and frightening. In the Algarve, where the economy is derived above all by Tourism, it has suffered immensely economically, especially derived from the (good) measures taken in a timely manner to contain the spread of the virus.

The local community has made many sacrifices in its daily and professional routines, easily adhering to the restrictions required in social distancing and with the closure of several companies, some temporarily and others more permanently, always with the aim of containing the spread of this virus, already obtaining good results, visible for example in the low numbers of infections in the region.

Turismo de Portugal launched the "Clean & Safe Seal" program, which ensures hygiene and safety standards in the prevention of Coronavirus, giving confidence to customers and ensuring their protection in restaurants, hotels and other public service.
